It's been almost 3 years since we found Brookwood Collies! Crispin is doing great! I have attached a couple of photos from a recent camping trip. His favorite part of camping is meeting new people, especially kids. He really loves all other animals, he is a friend to all, especially our chickens, he is their great protector. He is just the sweetest boy. We are so grateful to Katie and her family for giving him such a great start in life.
Don't hesitate if you are thinking of purchasing a new family member from Katie at Brookwood Collies. We had never purchased a puppy that we hadn't met the breeder and puppy before buying. Also we had never had it flown across the country. But we saw Katie's listing on the AKC web page and then on Good Dog. After reading her story and having many online chats, we selected our puppy, a beautiful blue merle rough collie. Katie was marvelous during the whole process. She responded with every little question we had and sent pictures of him as a little puppy and videos of him playing with his litter mates. When he was ready to come home we were needlessly very concerned with him flying a whole day. The whole process was handled by Katie and her excellent transporter, Concetta Kilmer. All the paperwork, doctors visits, shots, crate, food, and tickets were all handled by those two. Concetta even kept in contact with us before, during and after the flight. We met our boy happy and relaxed at the airport. We are sure all the Brookwood puppies and dogs are as wonderful as ours as Katie takes great pride in her program and seems completely attached to each dog and puppy. You can tell just how much she cares by all the genetic testing that she does before breeding her dogs. She periodically inquires how he is doing and is always ready to answer any new question that comes up as he is growing. Our boy is smart, growing by leaps and bounds, learning daily, and simply beautiful. We are completely thrilled with our growing boy and so very happy that we made the decision to get him from Katie and her Brookwood Collies, Smooth and Rough.

When we first started looking for a dog, we spent a lot of time researching breeds to find the right match for our family. Once we settled on a Collie, I found Katie and reached out with a general message about temperament. I shared what we were hoping for, our family dynamic, and what we envisioned in a future companion. Katie immediately stood out. She told us about Wilbur (now Draco) and why he might be a great fit for us. She welcomed us to visit, and while we waited for that trip she continued to answer every single question quickly and thoroughly. Her knowledge of her dogs and the breed was so obvious, and it made us feel confident and excited. Bringing Draco home felt like finding the missing piece. He has been everything we hoped for and more. Everyone who meets him comments on how sweet, calm, and intelligent he is. Our vet was so impressed with the detailed health packet Katie provided, and when we recently took him to the groomer, they were shocked at how well-behaved he was. We know that so much of Draco’s wonderful temperament comes from the early socialization and care Katie puts into her puppies. It truly shows. Thank you for allowing us to be Draco’s forever home — we are so grateful for him and for you. 🐾❤️

Katie is amazing! Top breeder. Our dog is a little over 4 years old. When we were looking for breeders, we found Katie’s website. Her description of all the genetic testing that has been done on the parents, what to look for in those tests (low or high probability of certain genetic issues), health records, etc. I literally went by her list and asked all the breeders if they have done the tests she has (most had no clue what I was talking about, which is scary). She stands behind every puppy. We had to sign a contract stating that, if for some reason, we cannot take care of our dog, we HAVE to give him back to her and not to a shelter. That’s how you know she’s a reputable breeder who cares about her dogs.
Katie owns a dairy farm, with lots of land (her farm is the cleanest farm I’ve ever been to. No manure smell!) The dogs have tons of land to run around. They also have their own kennels, one for the boys and one for the girls. One of the kennels has a fully loaded vet area where the vet can come and check on the puppies and the puppies come fully checked, with a clean bill of health and chipped. Yes, the puppies aren’t cheap but when you see what goes into caring for the parents and the puppies, you’ll understand. I could not be happier that we found Katie. I recommend her to anyone who wants a “lassie” puppy.
We got our boy Alastair in December 2020. 3 years later & we could not be happier. We loved working with Katie. She answered all of our questions & was over all a delight to work with! 10 out of 10!
Brookwood Collies is an exceptional private Collie breeding farm that breeds and raises Collie pups. I was very fortunate and blessed to purchase my magnificent Collie companion Emmitt from Katie, a top notch breeder who is extremely kind and a very, very knowledgeable breeder at Brookwood. Katie dedicates herself to exemplary breeding, caring for and LOVING numerous litters of Collie pups all year long. There isn’t a breeder that comes close to the caliber that Katie demands and demonstrates with her Collie pups and their parents. Her high standards of heathy, happy, great-tempered, gorgeous and so close to almost “perfect” in DNA genetics, makes Katie and her Brookwood pups irresistible and wonderful forever companions. Her healthy and happy loving pups are a testament to all of the love she has in her heart for the breed. It was quite the magical experience visiting Brookwood, where Collies of all ages roam the grounds and greet you with wagging tails and many, many kisses! They are all extremely happy, healthy with excellent temperaments. under the watchful eye of Katie. I would HIGHLY recommend Katie and Brookwood Collies if you are considering a Collie breed companion addition to your home and family. I had a great experience with Katie at Brookwood Collies. As a first time dog owner she was very helpful, patient and knowledgeable. She provided lots of great resources and information like genetic health reports for the puppy's parents.
Leo has been an awesome dog, healthy, calm, gentle and social. Everything you'd want to expect from a Collie. He also gets compliments for his looks all the time.
When I'm ready for another Collie I'm definitely going with Brookwood Collies again. Highly Recommended!
The best collie puppy and the best breeder. Max is an incredibly intelligent, loving, active puppy. He has amazing structure and personality. We looked for a trusted collie breeder for two years until we met Katie. She welcomed us to her home to meet her collies. She helped us pick the puppy that is right for our family and she even took care of Max when we went on vacation. Katie is highly responsive and extremely helpful, an invaluable resource. We couldn't recommend a better collie breeder. Thank you, Katie, you are doing great things with your collie program! I hope you continue to give other families such incredible collies.
We have so very much enjoyed the process of meeting Katie and all of her wonderful collies at Brookwood. We were privileged to get our third collie puppy from Katie and it has been an outstanding experience. Katie was knowledgeable, professional and so very loving towards all of her animals. Her puppies are good natured and have the best of temperaments. Our puppy has been very easy to train and quick to please.
Katie’s facilities are immaculately clean and she made the process easy and we felt well prepared to care for our new friend.We really look forward to the new addition to our family and thank Katie for creating this opportunity.
Working with Katie at Brookwood Collies has been a terrific experience. She always replied to answer my questions and gave me all of the information I was looking for. Katie went above and beyond to help us choose the puppy best suited for us, and to work out arrangements for us to pick him up. We were able to meet the parents of our puppy, who were so very sweet and loving. All of the dogs looked to be well taken care of and the kennels were super clean. We also enjoyed meeting Katie’s sister, Lori, who was kind enough to communicate with us in Katie’s absence and help us when we arrived. I am 100% happy with my new baby Layka, she is so beautiful now almost 1 year and a half, the Breeder was great! Very helpful and she took care of the adoption process very smoothly. Her Collies are the most beautiful dogs I’ve ever seen and I looked for one year before adopting my baby. Layka is so beauful! Everywhere I take her she makes people stop me and pet her asking me where I got her. She looks like a queen. Her personality is also great! Very friendly with children and other pets, I can not be happier. Thanks 😊
